The Deutsche Bank Mauritius 100 km Cycle Tour

Date of Race:

10 October 2010

Start Venue:

The departure point will be on the road from Blue Bay that runs parallel to the airport runway and joins the Route Royale from the airport to Mahebourg. It is the same starting point as the last two years (2008/2009)

Start Time:

The first group of cyclists shall leave the start venue at 08h00; thereafter all cyclists shall be started in their groups at 5 minute intervals.

Race Rules

 

1.    Safety approved cycling helmets are compulsory.

2.    Seconding of cyclists of any form from any motorised vehicle is strictly prohibited.

3.    All competitors will be allowed 6 hours to complete the race and to obtain a finishing certificate and medal.

4.    A participant must be at least 13 years of age on the date of the race.

5.    You may not deviate from the official route.

6.    The use of cell phones on the route is strictly prohibited by any participant.

7.    The race shall take place despite whether conditions, unless the organisers deem it necessary to cancel or postpone the tour.

8.    Participants starting the race in the incorrect group will be disqualified.

Corporations may enter the corporate challenge


Rules are as follows:

Teams must comprise of five cyclists. A company can have as many teams as required.

ONE licensed cyclist may be part of a corporate team (from category 1,2,3 or 4)

The time of the third fastest cyclist in the team will be the time of the team

Waiver & Indemnity


Participants take part in the Cycle Tour and all functions and events related thereto entirely at their own risk and hereby agree that they and their dependants waive and shall not have, nor institute any claims whatsoever against, and do hereby indemnify and hold harmless from all liability, the Circle and other organisations and all employees, agents or contractors of the above.

This waiver and indemnity includes death, injury, damage to and loss of property of a participant (including theft of or damage to a bicycle at the "bicycle park" and other areas under the control of the above entities), and is effective whether or not such death, injury, damage or loss may have been caused directly or indirectly or wholly or partly by any act or omission including negligence, of any of the above entities, and will bind the estate of a participant.

Persons signing the entry form as the guardian of a minor thereby agree to such minor being bound by the aforegoing waiver and indemnity, and do thereby further indemnify the said entities against claims by such minor to the extent if any, to which such minor is not capable of waiving his rights as stipulated above.

Medals & Awards

 

  • Gold medals shall be awarded to the first ten finishers
  • Silver medals shall be awarded to finishers in position 11- 50
  • A bronze finishers' medal shall be awarded to all cyclists completing the course.
  • Prize medals shall be awarded to first position in the following categories;
    • Women Racing Bicycle
    • Women Mountain Bicycle
    • Women Veteran Racing Bicycle (+40)
    • Women Veteran mountain Bicycle (+40)
    • Men Racing Bicycle
    • Men Mountain Bicycle
    • Men Veteran Racing Bicycle (+40)
    • Men Veteran Mountain Bicycle (+40)
    • Tandem Bicycle
    • Corporate Challenge

 

Race Registration


All participants must register and collect their start packs at the Expo held at Le Caudan Waterfront between 6 - 8 October 2010 from 10h00 to 16h00 and on the 9th October from 10h00 to 13h00.

Race Expo


An expo shall be held at Le Caudan Waterfront, Port Louis from the 6th - 9th October 2010, at which all participants should register for the race and receive their race package. This package shall include their race number, which must be pinned to the back of the cycling shirt.

Carnival - Mont Choisy Beach


A carnival shall be held at the end of the race at the Mon Choisy Public Beach. Participants may have use of the cycling park and shall be provided with some refreshments. Food & drink shall be available for purchase at the Carnival.

Activities for the whole family will be provided.
