MYSTIC SOUTH TOUR
Begin this tour with the visit of the town of Curepipe. The island’s most central town, Curepipe, as a major commercial hub, hosts luxury aristocratic mansions and modern buildings of embassies and businesses. Nearby is the Trou-aux Cerfs, a dormant crater, situated on the highest point of Curepipe, a place that attracts many. Get a complete view of Curepipe and other towns from this spot famous for its splendid view, cold fresh air and marvelous sun- sets. Proceed with the visit of Ganga Talao, a crater lake situated in a secluded mountain area in the district of Savanne deep in the heart of Mauritius. It is about 1800 feet above sea level. It is considered as the most sacred Hindu place in Mauritius . There is a temple dedicated to Shiva and other Gods including Hanuman, Lakshmi, and others along the Grand Bassin. During Maha Shivarati, many pilgrims in Mauritius walk bare feet from their homes to the lake. Then head to The Alexandra Falls viewpoint which is found few minutes’ drive away from Grand Bassin. It is a part of the Black River Gorges. There is a magnificent view of the south from the top of the Park. The green area around with endemic trees and rivers, soothes your soul.
Passing by the Maconde Viewpoint, you can see the authentic charms and sceneries of the island. Turquoise water stretches out as far as the eyes can see. The Maconde Rock bears witness to the colonial histories and cultures.
If you believe that life has lot to offer more than what you are now experiencing, talking a walk through the Vortex Park in Riambel is worthy. A short visit will yield fruits where you will discover science and spirituality that blends together to give a Vortex of “Perfect Love”…. Eventually Gris Gris, the southern end of the island, is quite different from the other open water areas with its strong currents crashing against sheer cliffs making it a dramatic but wonderful view.
